Part Two:
Morning
Present Day
Kaila awoke to the ringing of her alarm clock. 8:15 AM. Damn that dream...she'd had that dream on and off for the last four years, and each time she'd had it just days before she would run into Orlando. One of those times had turned out quite pleasant...but then he had to go off for other shoots and returned with an 'unfavorable' girlfriend by the name of Jemma Kidd. Eventually the two of them had fallen out of touch, and eventually Orlando had made it big, just as she knew he would. He was now in the top 20 Most Gorgeous People, and he well deserved it.
Orlando Bloom. The mere mention of the name sent a shiver down her spine, but she wouldn't let on...not to anyone. Except maybe Debbie Childress. Debbie was her best friend and, now, her roommate, but times had changed and Kaila was already out waitressing every night to make a living by the time Debbie came home from her job. They hardly ever talked any longer, but Debbie knew of Kaila's Orlando Bloom fetish. This was Kaila's first day off in two months, and Debbie, along with her fiancÈ, Charlie McDougal, had vowed to treat it like a vacation. This time, Kaila would be waited on hand and foot instead of waiting on others.
That was the only way that Debbie would have it.
She was already awake, making up a pot of coffee and a fresh batch of beignets, when Kaila drug herself into the kitchen doggedly.
"Mornin' sunshine!" Debbie sang in a chipper tone. Kaila simply snarled at the happy woman in her kitchen. "Oh, now, don't be such a party pooper! This is going to be a good day! What would you like to do today, love?"
"One: I disagree. Any day that requires me to get up before eleven has to be horrible, and two: I just want to go back to my nice, cozy bed," Kaila frowned as Debbie sat a huge cup of French Vanilla coffee before her best friend. As the warm vapors found their way up her nose, Kaila smiled, REALLY smiled, for the first time in three months and picked the large mug up with both hands, letting the hot liquid warm her palms and fingertips, before sipping greedily of the offering before her. "Okay," she breathed out in between sips of the scalding liquid. "Today may not be so bad."
Kaila didn't see it but, behind her own mug of coffee in the kitchen, Debbie smiled. It had been hard on Kaila, Debbie knew, having to switch tracks in the middle of her career, but thus far the girl had been able to make ends meet monetarily, if not physically. Debbie had explained to Charlie thatís what the day was for. She allowed Kaila to relax in front of the TV and flip through the channels too quickly to tell what was on them. Normally it bugged Debbie, now she was just grateful that her friend had the opportunity and the time to do it.
She sighed and watched Kaila for the longest time. When Kaila would stop to watch a show or movie, Debbie would watch from her seat at the kitchenís bar and when she went back to flipping channels, Debbie would find something else to do: fold laundry or rifle through the cupboards to make out her grocery list for the day. Once her shopping list was finished, Debbie chanced a look at the clock and nearly choked on her tongue.
"Okay, Miss Kaila. A hot, relaxing bath is next on the list for you. And hurry up you; I have things to get done today."
It was 12:15 P.M. and Kaila was still lounging around the house in her bathrobe. Debbie shooed her off of the couch and into the bathroom. Laid out on the counter were various bubble flavors and bath soaps. Shower gel, bars of soaps, lotions, all from Bath and Body Works. Kaila gasped at the sight of the five different flavors...there was easily at least seventy dollars worth of products sitting there.
"Pick one," Debbie commanded, and Kaila's eyes widened.
"For...for me? All of it?" She stuttered.
ìWhy not? You deserve to be pampered every now and again yourself,î Debbie replied with a shrug.
Kaila smiled as wide as she possibly could and pointed with one hand to the Cucumber Melon and pointed with the other to the Warm Vanilla Sugar fragrance. Debbie laughed and raked the rest of the products off into a plastic bag. ìI should have known you couldnít pick just one. Now choose which one you want in your bath, and hop in. I have a little bit of shopping to do right now, but I will be back shortly, okay?î
Kaila nodded happily as she set about her task. She would have a good day if it was the last thing that she did. As soon as Debbie had given one last ëgood-byeí and stepped out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her, Kaila had stripped off her pajamas and stepped into the hot bath water quickly. The bubbles covered her nude body all the way from her toes to the mounds of her breasts as she leaned back into the porcelain tub. ìNow this is more like it,î she told herself aloud as she relaxed into the water.
Too bad she didnít have anyone to wash her hair for her.
Kaila shrugged before sliding completely under the bubbles to wet her hair. When she came back up she shut off the water faucet and set to work massaging the shampoo into her hair. The sooner that she took her bath, the longer she could lounge around in the warm bubbles.
